Project Portfolio & Resource Management
Roles, permissions and getting your team started
Understand workspace access, delegated setup and project responsibilities.
Steps to follow
- 1
The owner names the workspace and chooses to complete PMO setup or invite a PMO administrator. Delegation keeps ownership and billing with the owner.
- 2
Add departments and import the resource directory. Directory records do not grant login access. Choose people, access roles and visibility, then send invitations within your plan allowances.
- 3
New invitees create their own password and verify their invited email. Existing users sign in and accept. No individual subscription is required. Return using the same email and password.
- 4
Managers and Contributors can submit requests; Viewers cannot. Contributors can contribute permitted documents and comments. Viewers can read accessible information. Project and department visibility still applies.
- 5
In Manage people, select one PMO review-and-approval team and designate project managers separately. A project can only be assigned to a designated active project manager.
- 6
Manager access alone does not grant PMO approval authority or a PM designation. Assign a designated PM to a project to maintain its schedule and team. The assignment uses the existing Manager seat.
