Project Portfolio & Resource Management
Task notes and assignment permissions
Authorized PMs and project Managers assign or reassign tasks to eligible people with project access, including Contributors and Guests/Viewers. Receiving an assignment never grants additional permissions. Contributors and Guests/Viewers cannot assign or reassign tasks.
Steps to follow
- 1
PMs, Managers and Tasks and action items can have multiple eligible assignees: search, add each person, then save. Decision logs have one decision-maker. Assignment does not grant access. Contributors can add task notes where project access permits. Authored notes show author and timestamp; Contributors can edit/delete their own notes, and authorized project Managers can manage project notes. Existing task-description notes remain available.
- 2
Grid, Timeline and Kanban open the same task notes and count. Guests/Viewers can read accessible notes but cannot add notes. Task-status editing remains restricted to authorized project Managers.
- 3
Department boundaries, confidentiality, project access and revocation apply on the server. A resource directory entry is not a workspace invitation or a role grant.
