Sending and signing documents

Request changes on a document

A recipient can pause the current signing round and ask the sender to revise the document without silently changing what others signed.

Steps to follow

  1. 1

Choose Request Changes in the signing page action area and explain the requested revision clearly.

  2. 2

The request pauses the current signing round. Existing field values, signatures, and audit evidence remain preserved while the sender decides.

  3. 3

If the sender rejects the request, the same document version resumes and previously completed signer work stays intact.

  4. 4

If the sender accepts the request, they upload a revised PDF and provide a revision summary for every recipient.

  5. 5

The previous version and signing round are retained as superseded audit evidence; their signing links are retired rather than rewritten.

  6. 6

Because the document content changed, every recipient must review and sign the new version, including recipients who signed the earlier version.

  7. 7

Each recipient can review the revision summary and revised document, then sign, request another change, or decline.
